Francis "Frank" S. Duffina, Sr.

Sunnyvale, California - Frank Duffina, 65, died peacefully, comforted by the
presence of his family, on July 4, 2009, after a brief battle with cancer.  

Born in Massachusetts on August 12, 1943, the son of Raymond and Helen
Duffina, Frank graduated from Wilmington High School in 1961.  He greatly
enjoyed reconnecting with classmates and old friends at the WHS Class of '61
40th reunion in 2001.

Frank lived and worked in the vacation real estate business for many years,
in some of the most beautiful locations in New England, including Cape Cod;
Quechee, Sugarbush, and Killington, Vermont; and the Berkshires in
Massachusetts.  In 1999 he relocated to California, settling first in Brea
then moving north to the Silicon Valley, where he spent the balance of his
career as a marketing executive.   Frank was a talented, natural manager who
was much beloved by his employees and co-workers, forming lasting
friendships with many of them.  

He is survived by his wife Candy and stepdaughter Candice of Sunnyvale,
California; daughter, Mary Robinson of White River Junction; son, Frank
Duffina, Jr. of Farmington, NH; granddaughters Sara Duffina and Molly
Robinson; mother Helen Duffina, sister Janice Massey, and brother Raymond
Duffina, all of New Hampshire; and a nephew and 4 nieces.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15th in Dover,
NH.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society,
Santa Clara County Unit, 747 Camden Ave Ste B, Campbell, CA  95008.  

Therron Scott Hamlin

Therron Scott Hamlin, age 42, died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, November 2, 2008.

Born in Boston, MA, on March 12, 1966, Therron was the beloved son of Nola M. (Skillings) Hamlin & the late Robert L. Hamlin of Wilmington. He was a life-long resident of Wilmington, attended Wilmington Public Schools and graduated Wilmington High School Class of 1984. Therron worked with various construction and forms companies at the time of his death.

Besides his mother Therron is also survived by his aunt, several cousins, and many friends.

His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 6th in the Wilmington Methodist Church, 87 Church St., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62) Wilmington, on Wednesday, November 5th from 4-8 p.m.

Cecelia ““Ann”” (McLaughlin) (Marr) Daudelin, age 68, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Boston Medical Center. She was the wife of the late George L. Daudelin III, and
previously, the late Arlington A. Marr Jr.

She was born in Miami, Florida, on July 9, 1939, a daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Sands) McLaughlin. She was raised in Wilmington, MA, and graduated Wilmington High School with the class of 1957. She had lived in West Tewksbury since 1963.

She was described by her family as having devoted her life to them, and was most happy when spending time with her family. She enjoyed bowling and was previously a league member at the Brunswick Lanes in Lowell. She also loved dancing, the outdoors, especially camping and hiking.

She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Geraldine Christiansen and her husband Todd of Nashua, NH, and Maureen Marr-Karlberg and her husband Ronald of Lowell; three grandchildren, Justin Booth, Heather Booth and her fiancéé Aaron Gouveia, and Jeremy Booth all of Lowell; five step-grandchildren, Kory and Katy Christiansen of NH, Anthony, Daniel, and Jonathan Karlberg of ME; three sisters, Rita McLaughlin of Tewksbury, Mary Jo and her husband Raymond Corcoran of Dracut, Monica Sue (Lysz) Fontaine of ME and a brother, Michael McLaughlin of ME; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also the sister of the late Kenny McLaughlin.

Her Funeral Service was held Monday, Jan. 21, in the funeral home. Burial followed at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 will be appreciated.

Mary E. Giannotti

Mary E. Giannotti, age 50, of Wilmington died December 7th surrounded by her loving family at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Franklin J. Giannotti. Born in Cambridge she was the daughter of Eleanor (Jarvis) Curran of Wilmington and the late Stephan Curran Jr. In addition to her husband and mother, Mary is survived by her daughter, Lauren Giannotti of Wilmington.

John Douglas Poland, Jr

Mr. John Douglas Poland, Jr., "Dug", 33, a life-long resident of Wilmington, died unexpectedly, Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the Winchester Hospital. Dug was born March 13, 1973, in Lawrence, MA, he was the beloved son of John D. & Rita M. (Collins) Poland of Wilmington. Dug was educated in Wilmington and graduated Wilmington High School. He loved music and comedy, and he worked as a comedian at Nick;s Comedy in Boston for many years. Besides his parents, Dug was a loving grandson of Alice F. & the late Leo Poland of Wilmington, and the late Bernice M. Collins, he is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Linda (Staffiere) Looney passed away on January 21, 2006 after battling brain cancer for 5 years. She lived in Goffstown, NH. She was survived by her husband and her two daughters. She was very involved with her family and taught 8th grade English in Manchester, NH.

Ms. Brenda L. Ramsdell, 35, of Wilmington died unexpectedly December 29, 2005 in Hartford, CT. Brenda was born February 26, 1970 in Lowell, MA, she was the loving daughter of Frank and Rita Ramsdell of Wilmington. She grew up in Wilmington, where she was educated and graduated Wilmington High School. Brenda recently completed her cosmetology school in Connecticut, where she planned to work. Besides her parents, Brenda is survived by her beloved daughter Stephanie Ramsdell of Wilmington, she was the dear sister of Frank Ramsdell III & his wife Lynette, Chris Ramsdell & his girlfriend Kathlene Guiney all of Wilmington, and Angie Wilhelm of Woburn, granddaughter of Rita Ginewicz & Lucy Ramsdell, niece of Darlene & Bill Sinopli, Noreen Pinkston, Sandy Atkins, and Jim & Cindy Litwinsky, long-time friend of Keith Tellar, Marcie Reeves & Nicole Crowley, Brenda is also survived by many cousins. Christopher R. Norton

Chelmsford - Christopher R. Norton, a Chelmsford resident who was a stock broker, 50, died unexpectedly Friday evening, November 18, at his home. He was the husband of Beth-Ann "Missy" (McKee) Norton.

He was born and raised in Wilmington, son of the late Augustus T. Norton, Jr., and Evelyn (Buck) Norton. He grew up in Wilmington and attended Northern Esses Community College in Haverhill and Keene State College.

Mr. Norton was into business for himself as a stock broker. Previously, he had worked for Hewlett-Packard in Waltham and Andover for 15 years.

He and his wife resided in Chelmsford for the past 20 years. Previously, they had lived in Melrose and Woburn.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Meredith C. Norton of Chelmsford; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David T. and Deborah Norton of North Hampton, NH and Timothy E. Norton of Wilmington; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Laura and Charles Gillespie of Pepperell, Bruce McKee, Jr. of Woburn; a nephew, Curtis Parker of Derry, NH; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Norma McKee of Woburn.

Frank W Simmons

Frank W. Simmons , age 50 years of Old Orchard Beach, ME, formerly of Wilmington, died Monday, November 7, 2005, at his home.

Frank was born on November 18, 1954 in Winchester, the son of Janet (Ball) Simmons of WIlmington and the late William A. Simmons of Wilmington. He spent his youth in Wilmington, having graduated from Wilmington HIgh School and was employed as a Sales Manager.

Aside from his mother, Frank is survived by his cherished companion, Cheryl Boucher of Old Orchard Beach, his sister Carolyn (Simmons) Gable and her husband William of Wilmington; his brothers Joseph and his wife Melissa (Glencross) Simmons of Wilmington and Robert and his wife Janice (Lowe) Simmons of Billerica; his niece Stefanie Gable and his newphews Michael Gable, William, Thomas, and Jonathan Simmons, all of WIlmington and his two dear uncles Robert and Claude Ball both of New Mexico.

Frank was also the brother of the late Mary M. Simmons.

His funeral will be held from the W.S. Cavanaugh & Son Funeral Home, 374 Main Street (Rt. 38), Wilmington, on Monday morning, November 14, 2005 at 8:45 followed by a Memorial Mass at St. Thomas Church, 126 MIddlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the family lot in Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Thomas E. Rothwell

Very talented and known as a "Jack of All Trades"

Mr. Thomas E. Rothwell, 52, of Nashua, NH, formerly a life-long resident of Wilmington, died November 1, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Rothwell was born March 10, 1953 in Woburn, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of Gloria A. (Bonnarigo) and the late Edward R. Rothwell.

He spent his entire youth in Wilmington, he graduated from Wilmington High School, he took courses in air conditioning and refrigeration from Shawsheen Tech, and automotive courses from ITT Tech. Tom liked to tinker with electrical projects as well as anything automotive, he was a "Jack of all Trades" and a very talented individual.

Tom was the dear brother of Stephen J. Rothwell, & Paul J> Rothwell both of Nashua, NH. RIchard Rothwell of Methuen. Anne Rothwell of Salem, MA. Mary F. McCuish of Billerica & the late David M. Rothwell, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Rita F. (Sullivan) Doherty

Rita F. (Sullivan) Doherty, 83, died Thursday October 6, 2005 at a local nursing facility following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Miriam (Melzar) Sullivan. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School, Class of 1940. For many years she resided in Wakefield where she raised her family. More recently, she had lived in assisted living facilities in Peabody, Swampscott, and Danvers. She was employed as a secretary at American Mutual Insurance in Wakefield for many years to her retirement. She was a devoted mother with a great love of animals, dancing, and music. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Stephen and Linda Doherty of MD, Kenneth and Dolores Doherty of NC, Brian and Elizabeth of Tewksbury, and William Doherty of NH. And Elaine and William Clark of Danvers; seven grandchildren; Kristin, Caroline, Christopher, Emma, and Adam Doherty, Heather Wilkes, and Hobie Clark; and three siblings; Beatrice Barry, Charles Sullivan, and David Sullivan. A funeral service was held Tuesday, at 10 AM in the McElroy Chapel at Maple Street Congregational Church, Danvers. Burial followed in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Arrangements were by C.R. Brian S. Godin

Brian S. Godin, 25, a lifelong Wilmington resident, died unexpectedly, Monday, October 3, 2005. He was born in Malden on April 8, 1980, the son of Marijane (Kirby) Godin of Wilmington and Daniel Godin of Saugus. Mr. Godin was a graduate of Wilmington High School, Class of 1998. Mr. Godin was active in Wilmington Little League when he was younger. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, and music. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his three brothers, Daniel Godin of Washington, D.C., David Godin and his wife, Heather, of Dracut, and Dennis Godin and his fiancé, Christine Dearing of Lowell, a niece, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Roseann Poole

Roseann (Eaton) Poole, age 61 years, of Billerica, died on April 22, 2005 at her residence.

Mrs. Poole was born on Thursday, July 1, 1943, in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Winifred (Donahue) King. She was the Secretary for Billerica Police Chiefs for 33 years and attended St. Andrews Church in Billerica.

Mrs. Poole is survived by her children Norman L. Katherine Marie Barry

Katherine Marie Barry, a first grade teacher in the Wilmington School systems for 40 years, passed away after a long illness at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday night, January 26, 2005. She was 64 years old. Ms. Barry was born in Cambridge, the daughter of the late John and Grace Barry. She grew up in the Porter Square section of Cambridge. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Cambridge. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Cardinal Cushing College in Brookline. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Lowell. Ms. Barry taught first grade in Wilmington for 40 years. She taught at the Wildwood, Mildred Rogers, Shawsheen, and Boutwell Elementary Schools. She loved teaching and never lost her passion to help children begin their education in a warm and nurturing environment. Even after she retired in 2001, she came back to school as a volunteer in the office. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all her students and fellow teachers in Wilmington. Ms. Barry had lived this past year with her friends Chris and Jim O’Donnell in Wilmington. Previously, she had resided in Tewksbury for 10 years and Burlington for 20 years. One of the benefits of being a teacher is having the summer off. She spent summers at her summer home in Marshfield. She spent 37 summers working at McGrath’s Restaurant in Plymouth as a waitress. In recent years, she would spend her weekends in Hyannis at the home of Chris & Jim O’Donnell. She loved to travel. Each February vacation, she and a group of friends would go on a cruise to some warm sunny destination. She was an avid reader. She had a strong faith and no matter where she was always found a way to attend Mass. Ms. Barry is survived by her siblings and their spouses; Mary A. Edward F. Carleton, Jr.

Edward F. Carleton, Jr, 58, a life-long Lowell resident died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 after a brief illness. He was born in Lowell on May, 20, 1945, a son of the late Edward F, and Natalie E. (Fisher) Carleton. He was a 1963 graduate of Wilmington High School. Mr. Carleton was a welder for Raytheon Co and Welfab Corp. More recently, he was a taxi driver for several local cab companies. Survivors include two sons, Michael E. Carleton of Dracut and Matthew A Carleton of Pocasset; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Leon Parsons of Iverness, FL., Leslie and Robert Sheehan of Merrimack, NH, Judith and Thomas Cunniff of Lowell, and Sheild and Edward Doyle of Andover; three grandchildren, Dean Dumont, Corey Carletong, and Haylee Carleton; 17 nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
